Dera graduated from Hawkeye Community College in 2016 with a degree in Professional Photography after attending the University of Northern Iowa studying Interior Design for two years. She has been Photo and Video assisting for Meredith's Photo Studios since the Fall of 2016. Dera has even had the pleasure of shooting stills and videos for several of Meredith's brands. Her interest in photography extends outside of the workplace by doing many, fun freelance gigs!
Dera grew up in small-town Northeast Iowa and has had an interest in photography since a very young age. She enjoys traveling as much as she can, wherever she can get to. One of her favorite places is the Soca River in Slovenia! Her hobbies include kayaking on the Upper Iowa River and spending time with family and friends.
