John Hallstrom ​

My name is John Hallstrom and I have had the good fortune to be working in the Dotdash Meredith Photo Studio for about 8 years. Starting with Brand License (BHG/Walmart) and MXM(Lowe’s) as a contract worker building and painting sets, building and assembling furniture.
In 2013  I was hired full time as assistant set builder in the Photo Studio. Two of my favorite things in life are photography and carpentry. 
I love my job. I get to work with talented people every day and these collaborations inspire and challenge me. 
In 2001 my wife and I rescued  a 1911 Four Square house in the Sherman Hill neighborhood in Downtown Des Moines. I am currently restoring a 1970”s Mid Century Modern house with a flat roof and cedar siding with floor to ceiling windows looking out over a golf coarse.
