I’ve been hooked on cooking for as long as I can remember. I learned my first cooking tip from my Grandma Hoffman as a toddler: don’t over mix pancake batter—there should be lumps. I received a Bachelors of Science in Culinary Science from Iowa State University in 2011. While in school I worked at a couple restaurants, one being The Café in Ames Iowa where I was a baker for about 2 ½ years. I had an internship with America’s Test Kitchen shortly after graduating in Boston, MA. After my internship, I moved back to Des Moines and began assisting food stylists Greg Luna and Charles Worthington. About three years of assisting provided me the opportunity to learn what it takes to be successful as a stylist: a multitude of cooking skills, creative eye, flexibility, teamwork and a never-ending desire to collaborate with and deliver what the client wants. I worked in the test kitchen for a couple of years while assisting as well. I was hired on as a food stylist in September of 2016 but have had some styling opportunites for the last year and a half; a few of which were covers for SIM. I so look forward to working together with you to create beauty.
